COLLAGE TECHNIQUE for grade 3-5 [Winter Spring 2026 / Syosset]
Reconstructing Reality course invites students to explore the power of collage as a tool for observation, interpretation, and creative reconstruction. Using hand-painted and textured colored paper, students will break down everyday subjects—such as objects, portraits, cityscapes, and natural scenes—into simplified shapes, values, and shadows. Through exercises in visual analysis and layering, they will learn how to translate three-dimensional reality into two-dimensional compositions with depth, detail, and artistic surprise.
